These are essential fatty acids that the body does not make on its own. So, we have to get them from our food or from supplements. They are found in foods like nuts, seeds, eggs and seafood. Scientific research is saying we should be at a 3:1 ration, while some nutrition trainings say 2:1 is optimal. I am seeing test results from 10:1 and as high as 84:1.
We love convenience, therefore many people are eating too much fast food and too much processed and packaged food. The excess omega 6 in these products is coming from vegetable oils and seed oils Also, over-farming by the agriculture industry has brought a lot of attention to the quality of our food. With the soil being depleted of vital nutrients, so is the food we are eating.
When there is too much omega 6 in the body, the cell walls start to harden and become less fluid. The cells do not absorb the nutrients from our food like they used to and toxins are not being released from the cells. This causes inflammation in the body and inflammation is the root cause of many diseases.
We need omega 3 to balance out the ration and park in the receptor sites of the cell wall membrane so that the cells can absorb nutrients and the body can function properly. Increased omega 3 levels benefit the brain, eyes heart, joints, skin and immune system.

The 10:1 ratio was from a customer who was taking an $80-$90 bottle of fish oil, which did not include polyphenols. Fish get polyphenols from the algae they eat. When you eat fish, you are getting omega 3 and polyphenols. Other products boil the fish to extract the omega 3, which also removes the polyphenols. They are not adding them back in and we need them in order for the body to absorb the omega 3 effectively. This comes in the form of ALA, or alpha-linolenic acid. It is a shorter chain fatty acid containing 18 carbons. The body actually uses EPA, 20 carbon chain, and DHA, 22 carbon chain, fatty acids. In order for the brain and body to use the ALA, it must do a biochemical conversion to add 2 or 4 carbons to the short chain for it to be converted to EPA and DHA that we actually need to build and repair cells. Surprisingly, that process is only 3-5% successful. This is very important to know for plant-based eaters.

I consider myself fairly healthy so I was definitely shocked when I received my results.
I've had lower back and SI joint pain for over 25 years and have seen chiropractors off and on since I was 19. While that helped some, my issue never seemed to go away. Shortly after the start of the yoga teacher training, I developed an issue with my right piriformis muscle. It didn't matter if I was working out too much, not at all or sitting most of the day. It was a constant, nagging pain. I tried increasing my visits to the chiropractor, I used a foam roller, I even bought a $200 massage gun trying to elevate the pain. Nothing was working.
On July 29, 2020, I was sitting at my desk and realized I could barely feel it. There were days when I would sit on knuckles trying to release the tightness. The pain level was around 1-2%, where previously it stayed around 80-90%. Ever since that day, I've been waiting to see if it will act up again and so far it has not. I cannot express enough how nice it is to literally not have a pain my rear. In addition, I no longer experience low back or SI joint pain.
This is my personal experience and I am not saying the Scandinavian Health Protocol has cured or can cure anything. But because this is a test-based program, I will be able to see my new results in December and will know that the product is working. I have spent a lot of money in the past on products that may or may not have worked. For me, this is affordable and I get to see and feel that it's working.
Science has shown a link to inflammation, high Omega 6 levels and disease. So I can only assume that my results are coming from lowering my inflammation, which is allowing my body to function properly.
